Top highlights of Google I/O 2022
This is the first time I got the chance to attend Google I/O live(I think everyone might have got ), however I missed the first day Google Key note, but somehow I went back and watched the recorded video again, and it was worth the watch,
Below I am mentioning top highlight of the Google I/O key note highlight, from my point of view.
My opinion after discussion with my husband (who is 🍎 boy), most of the new features were already there on apple products (like casting devices, phone wallet, and some of the wear OS features, emergency warning or help and pixel pods feature) which was little disappointment for me, but from my perspectivewhat google doing around ML and binding it to all their products is really stood out in this Google I/O(especially google Map, Google eye wear, Google speech, google tensor SOC in a lower end device of pixel) .
Immersive View(Google Maps)
Using advances of 3D modeling and machine learning added high fidelity representation of a place.
- VR view checking out any city, checking traffic in the city, weather status
- we can checkout restaurant and checking live of of the restaurant.
Eco Friendly Routing (Google Maps)
- As the name says it suggests the most fuel efficient route, which in-turn reduces the carbon emission fuel consumption.
- similar feature added in flights.
Youtube
- Auto generated chapters
- Auto generated Video transcription
- Auto translation of video transcript
Google Doc
- Auto generated summarisation for google doc(this feature will summarise any google doc, later this year it will be expanded to other google products like google chat) so far the best feature according to me.
Google meet
- Starline inspired machine learning image processing on google meet video.
- automatically improve the image quality,
- adjust light position and brightness.
(Android)Google Wallet
- this is an application which stores all the things which you carry on your wallet(if any iPhone user’s reading this, its very similar to apple wallet)
- you can store your credit cards, vaccine certificate, also valid licenses, id proof, tickets(flight tickets and any other travel related tickets, if it automatically sync with gmail it will be cherry on the cake)
- I am not sure by when this application will be available for all countries, may be soon
Google pixel Watch and Tablets
Google Returning back to its Android Tablet Market with new pixel version of the tablets, it will be out with Google Pixel 7 series, from the talk it was bit clear its going to include almost all the feature that apple watch has , with the smart casting behaviour its going to give quite a tough competition for apple watches.
Google pixel pod pro
Google has unveiled a new-and-improved version of the Google Pixel Buds called the Google Pixel Buds Pro that are going on sale for pre-order on July 21 2022.
Features:
- multipoint connectivity that allows them to pair with multiple devices simultaneously,
- it has active noise cancellation with a passthrough transparency mode and, coming later this year, spatial audio support.
- live translation for over two dozen languages.
- Google Assistant built-in that will allow you to control your smart home.
It cost around $ 199 when they will be available to everyone on July 28.
